  2. Dear Owner With Picky Dog,
Ok, so i think you typed finniky, but i think you ment picky??? If i'm wrong please do tell me. You shouldn't really baby a dog when it comes to eating. You're the pack leader, he's the dog. He does not control what he eats. I suggest dry food, any brand. You leave him the bowl of dog food out and don't give him anything to eat, sooner or later, he will have to eat!
You can also train him that dog food is yummy! Put some bread in lil pieces mixed throughout the dog food (or his favorite edible doggy bone) Give him some of the treat. Then show him is food. He will eat to find the food. Then next time, he will eat to try to find the food again. If he doesn't find it, give him a treat after he's done eating.
You can make him feel jealous!! Take his food and pretend to eat it. Then when he wants it, dont give it to him til you're done. Then he will hopfully eat the food to see what you were eating!!
    Hope this helps!

  4. Hi,
My 14th bd is coimg up soon and my parents said i can have a dog or cat. We have never had either. What are the pros and cons of each? I image u r partial to dogs, but i know u will give me your honest opinion. More info...we have a big yard, no fence though. What advice do you have?

  5. My neighbor has a dog with only 3 legs. How does that work, He seems to be able to run and do other stuff. Just curious????

  6. Dear Undecided,
I like both! My 3 best friends are cats! Ok, so here are your pros and cons:
A dog is awesome! They can be your best friend, they listen, and they don't hold grudges. They also can run with you if your into sports, play with you when you're are bord, and be the cutest thing when they are sleeping!! But they have a bad side too. If you get a puppy, you have to poddy train it (a very hard and time consuming thing), teach it tricks, and buy it toys to chew on in its chewing phase. If you get an older dog, you have to pick up its poop when you take it for a walk, show it what not to chew on, and teach it not to bark at everything! You have to show it you are the pack leader, which can be hard!!!
Cats are cool too! They love to cuttle when dogs don't, they use a litter box, they like to play with string, and they make you go awww when they when they are kittens. Sooner or later they grow up though. Cats hold grudges, you step on its tale, it wont cuddle with you for a week. Cats have to be trained to use litter boxes. It's gross to change it too. Lots of money can be spent of scratch toys so it doesn't scratch up your couch! They don't do tricks and they dont play. They are layed back. They are fragile and don't rough house. They get into trouble when they jump on tables and they choose a person to be its best friend and cuddle with.
No fence can definatly change what you do. If you get a dog, you have to train it to stay within to yard. It's not hard, but its better if you start with a puppy. When you take him outside, attach a lil leash to his collar and walk him out. Do this until he's about 1 year old. Then you have to watch him like a hauk til he gets it that he cant go outside the boundries. A cat is harder to train to stay in the boundries. It's either an indoor or outdoor cat. Dogs are more flexible. So thats the pros and cons. I suggest that you get a puppy. A small dog to medium dog might be for you. Such as a cocker spaniel, shitzue, winner dog, chihuahua, beagle, yorkie, or snouser. A mix breed is good too. Make it an indoor dog. It's easier if it doesn't shed, but if it does, you'll just have to be carful that you vacumme (cocker spaniels, shitzues, and chihuahuas don't shed). Make sure you watch it when it has to go poddy during its first year or so. Never drop your puppy. Make sure no one steps on it or hurts it. Give it lots of love and it will love you back! Teach it to sleep with you at night and to do lots of tricks! Poddy train it the first time it has to go. If it starts to chase a car, run after it, even if it is night. Pick up its poops when you go for a walk. Run with it and play with it lots!!! Change its food and water frequently. To save money, give it a hair cut yourself. If you think a cat is a better choice, go with it!!! Do lots af research and pick the right one!! You've gotten my opinion, now it's your choice! Whatever pet you get, make sure you love it and never forget it!!!!

  8. Chewie,
My family got two puppies in April. They are cute little yorkies named Tom and Jerry. They are brothers from the same mom. We now have a big problem. Tom is bossing Jerry in everything. He won't let Jerry near the food bowl and everytime we try to pet Jerry Tom growls at him and he runs off and hides and seems nervous. Jerry is becoming very shy and staying by himself a lot. We don't know what to do. We are afraid he is going to become a complete social recluse. What can we do. I know this is a difficult situation, but we don't know where to turn. No one we've talked to has any idea what to do. Some even think the two can't live in the same house and Jerry will have to go. I ccouldn't stand to lose either of them. I love them both equally. I know you will have some suggestions. You have such good ideas. Thank you in advance.

  9. CHEWIE DOG....any suggestions on activities to do with your pet during summer break? I have been home for a week and am already getting bored. Part of my summer responsibilites is to take care of our Lab so I've got to include her in my plans. Any thoughts on cool and interesting stuff to do with my dog. I plan totake hier to the pool the last day of the season when they let dogs swim. Otherwise i have no good ideas. Thanx.

  10. Dear DESPARATE,
You have to be the pack leader! When Tom is mean to Jerry, you have to step in and punish Tom. Tell him, "NO! Bad dog!" Then put him in a place he doesnt like for a time out, like a cage. Then you need to pet Jerry and reward him. Then let Tom back out and see how it goes. If they start to fight again, step in, block the two of them. They are just like toddlers, they have to learn wrong from right. When Tom scares Jerry away from the food, take the food away from Tom. Then go get Jerry and give him food before Tom gets the food. Also, take Jerry for lots of walks by himself so he gets social with other dogs. Its lik having a brother, every once in awhile you just gotta get away from them! Whenever he sits by himslef, go sit by him, and dont let Tom take his place! BTW: I luv the names!!! :D So cute!!!! Good luck!

  11. Bored,
There are lots of stuff you can do with your dog!!! Turn on the hoes and run around the yard spraying her!! Turn on the sprinklers and run threw them! Lay down a tarp in the yard, put some some down it, and run a hoes then SLIDE!!! You and your dog can slide together (throw a ball to the end of the tarp, then hopfully she'll run and slip and slide!!) Get your friends over and have a water war with water balloons and guns, then spread into teams with your dog on one team (tell your friends to bring there dogs or maybe there neighbors dog so then theres a dog on each team!) Finally, you can just go for a walk threw the park or down the street, thats always fun!Hope you have fun this summer!

  12. dear chewie,
sorry this isnt dog related, but i really need some help. im a soccer player and last night i went to a soccer bible study type thing with my friends. it was a lot of fun, but im not really religious. i just went to see what it was like.

they were talking about things like how God loves you and is always with you, and i was wondering if i sould "become" religious if that makes any sense. because they were talking about how God can help you in stuff like soccer, but if you dont worship him than he wont.

im so confused, i dont know what to do! im not sure if your religious or not, but i really need some help! should i become religious so that God can help me through rough times and stuff like that, or is that the wrong reason to become religious? so in that case should i stay true to myself and my parents?
    -so confused!

  13. Dear So Confused,
God loves everyone, weather you are religious or not. Jesus died to forgive all our sins! God helps you in your everyday life weather you've never gone to church or even read the Bible! If you believe in God and the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ you are saved! God helps whoever believes in him! You should not become religious just because you want to do better in soccer, you should become religious so you can get to know Jesus Christ, your friend and brother, and get to know God, your Father! If you want to become religious it should be so you can learn more! Being religious isnt something one can do by his or her self, but by the grace of God! You should definatly pray to God to help you become religious and then tell Him that You will follow His Will in what ever you do in life! He has a plan for you and me! Weather it may seem good or bad, its His good and perfect will! God is Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I say if you want to learn more about God and His love for you, read the bible, go to church, pray, become a Christian! But if you don't feel that it's right, that God isnt real, I will definatly pray for you!!!!!! But remeber, God loves you and He has a plan for you!
